Land Art: Research & Development.

Along side looking at Art Povera, I also looked at Land Art and the role I can play within my investigation into how will I produce work for this project. The use of art land was an exploration I developed as I found myself including natural materials in different aspect of my work. I was using soil as it was easily accessible and played a role in some of my performance like works, where I focused on the usage of hands in relation to solid, how we can mould it. This also transferred to my works with ice where I froze ice to trams the soil that I found.

When researching about land art, a strong theme that are across from artist working in this movement was their strive to reconnect with nature through what they make or question. As I was exploring the relationship with nature that we have I was intrigued if as my work was starting to do more and more of this. The use of found materials that where natural also depend the level of which I acknowledged my being in the outside world. I started exploring more and more with what I found outside to reintroduce the viewer t that connection we all have with nature, making that the prominent aim in my work.

Here are some quick works that developed my usage of the land around my, also work that explored how I can transform what I found in land:

I use white paper and PVA to create a more sterilised environment for the soil and contrast the artists materials with the soil. I also wanted to see how the soil would change when the PVA tried making bits solid and some lumps not.
