This Kandinsky piece influenced me as he uses long lines across the centre of his piece. I liked the idea of using long lines as a representation of a time continuum, as the sounds surrounding you change every second .Here is the sketch before I painted over it I created different shapes intersecting and overlapping just like in my collage piece. I tried to keep similar shapes as my collage:
- The dotted lines is the sounds of the cobbled streets
- the green stems that split off is the wind
- the circles are the buzz of traffic
- the triangles are the seagulls
- the smaller rectangles are voices and words
- the patchwork is music
- the small squares are the rustling noises (my coat/bags and litter)
- the rhombus represents the sirens.
