Visually representing background noise

incorporating previous project on graffiti

background sounds i could hear in audios recorded on my walk

inescapable-distracting from scene

part of the scene itself-can’t have a nice walk in the meadows without hearing a bloody police car…

overlaying of visual scene and sound scene-painting represent whole experience of my walk rather than just what I could see

a mock up of the concept I am thinking of:

where the ‘graffiti’ is sounds I can hear in the recordings I took on the soundwalk

The scene itself and the ‘sounds’ all overlap existing as one, rather than foreground and background, conveying the experience of the soundwalk in a new way.

expressing background noise as a visual.

using size and colour of text to represent its prominence/intrusiveness

sounds that are and aren’t expected on a walk through a green area

natural conflict within green areas of cities
