About

ayA Zamir

I refer to the dialogue between photography as an artistic and documentary medium and the

creative process itself. I explore this dialogue with paintings, prints, and installations.

The use and layering of diverse techniques enable me to reveal the changes which occur in an image.

I am interested in researching the issues of perspective with regards to the cultural

contexts that influence the way we read images. A story can be reimagined and passed on

differently to how it has occurred.

As an artist, I think of art as a territory where a grey and multi-layered existence, within

multiple perspectives, can be reflected. Art is a space that can hold contradictions and

can break down fixations and patterns of thinking, through aesthetics as a sensory

experience which enables reflection.
