There’s no such thing as a truly sustainable material

Being sustainable means that something is able to be maintained at a certain rate or level. No material has an eternal life as the function it is needed to be, therefore I don’t believe it can truly be seen as a sustainable material as it doesn’t meet the criteria of being sustainable.
Sustainable materials mean they have a longer life and they are made in a sustainable way, however more often than not this isn’t actually the case, more sustainable materials can involve toxic substances and use enormous amounts of energy to be created. This in turn can harm animals and humans. Not only can this be a lengthy process, but it also almost always and extremely costly one too. This makes sustainable materials not readily available for everyone as not everybody can afford them, no matter how much they want to help the planet , materials like plastic are a lot cheaper, but hugely detrimental for the planet.
