Week 3

Unfortunately I was diagnosed with CoVid 19 during week 3, so I wasn’t feeling too well and found it rather challenging to focus and work, due to the state that I was in. I had a really bad cough, shivers and headache. Some of the highlights from this CAD course during this week consisted of learning about commands such as how to use layers, whether that be how to manage, create and isolate individual layers. What’s more we also learnt about line weights and how to scale.

The piece of Architecture that I chose for the cad drawing is the Barcelona pavilion designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich. What I loved about this piece of architecture is the open plan design and simplistic Aesthetic. The use of material is what fascinates me, in particular the granite wall in the middle of the space which has this topographic/contoured design.
