Early Feline Society

Early Feline Society

Feline society may have existed (at the latest) by the Middle Ages, after the fall of Rome but before the renaissance. The Felines “time traveling” abilities make this date somewhat uncertain and unimportant. Their cat-like form could be attributed to the cross-cultural dialogue between the ancient Romans and Egyptians (the cat was revered in ancient Egyptian culture). The gods made these creatures in their own likeness. They cannot act in the Feline world like they do in the human world. The gods are creators and watchers of the Felines, but certainly not caretakers. The Felines are more like the Roman gods themselves (minus the rampant copulation and metaphysical “jobs” like moving the sun or presiding over the ocean’s tides). They are violent but can be loving in their own way, a loyal and passionate love that, when betrayed, erupts in violence. Shame and guilt aren’t emotions the Felines feel. Rage, yes, but most often cool and calculated, always serving revenge cold. Intelligence, wit, ferocity, agility, and importantly Philocalistry: they share these attributes with the gods. Quick-tempered and thrill-seeking, as well, they travel to earth to amuse themselves.
