Choral Fragmentation

Choral Fragmentation

A ‘fragment’ taken from new sound piece, incorporating new materials using synthesised sounds. Ideas of fragmentation referencing Sapphic histories and the methodology of fragmentation as a response to trauma, piecing the fragments together after the devastation of the blast, scattered ruins becoming pieced together.

*But then u float above it*

“Its not an apology if u put urself at the centre of it”

But then u float above it
To a place where it all falls away to nothingness
Where it all becomes meaningless
I’d rather exist here than be stuck inside the knots in my head
Hierarchy and structures seem ridiculous and archaic, laughable in their so called worthiness
Float me high above it bent into a different stream of time, becoming nature, becoming slow, becoming something outside of what lies within
Outside our desires so that I may feel this peace once more
I feel pain full and without release
These needs that hold me back won’t need me like the clay I abound from, was birthed from
Help me settle lift my struggle
At ease I will seize my life and the meaning of a day, a breath for each sounding bird is all I wish to know
Grow at once with the trees, released of all oxygen, absolved from all rings
Spiralled and fantasised
I lay awake still buried in dreams of you
I am perpetual
In perpetual pain
I only wish to breathe again
Laid awake in fear again of losing what I never had

*To Touch Another is to Feel Past Lovers*

*To Touch Another is to Feel Past Lovers*

Outside and inside of a feeling
A touch to remember years later, alone together
I can hear u breathing me, luring me into seduction
I’m ahead of the time in my mind while still pulling back
I am him, playing his game and his ways, movements of bodily memory being passed onto another lover
Reversed into a role
I am now him
I often laid there trying to imagine what our memories would be like through his eyes, through his skin
My powers strong I’ve taken off from imagining to becoming
Is this the way when you stay inside your loop too long,
Patterns repeat themselves into engravings, embodying him
Now I have
Is all that we feel a self fulfilling prophecy waiting for time to unravel?
In order to reveal our second nature, a truth in ourselves we do not wish to know
I like it inside you like it out
You like it inside I like it out,
I lick it out to taste away the pain
Devour what remains of the ruins in my room
Still fallen over from you, grounded into this bed and growing through our memories
This healing is cyclical, I will never be truly forward or not in the sense of a future that we are told of
You’re still here until I’m full, there’s no way around it here so look me in the eye and tell me what I can’t foresee, a truth that the whites of our eyes echo future songs
A truth that to touch another is to feel past lovers

Siren Song

Created a siren song loop using a loop pedal and siren effects. Inspired by the Greek mythology story, I wanted to recreate this sense allure and also fear that the sirens are described to create. The piece gradually moves from minor notes into major, the ebbing drift into the state of mind the men eventually succumb to, pure ecstasy, a state which embodies their reaching of ultimate prophetic knowledge which the sirens claim to posses. Knowledge of the Gods. The cycle of sound connects, washing over the experience of the ecstasy to sing for the next set of sailers they try to seduce with their song. I’m curious of their motivations or if they even have any.
