Think Plastic: Materials and Making – Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh

Sinclair explores the way our memories form and how they connect to the environment. The piece is formed in layers to represent the physical processes of generating memories. Each ‘memory’ has a different making process and different material – representing the idea that each memories stores unique information.

The work is presented on a large light box that gently glows blue and grey tones of colour. On top of the light box, small delicate squares of porcelain and gutta percha are mounted in a grid formation, diffusing the light in a unique way.
