Some changes. She’s becoming a bit creepy even to me. Introducing the furniture really changed thing. Want to bring in organic materials that will rot and decay, had a flower to hand- don’t like it but think food would work instead

*WARNING GORE* Considering documentation; often inspired by horror/gore film culture and currently interested in the self-footage concept. Enjoy the homemade aesthetic and grit in general but also the atmosphere of coming across footage that is distressing and perhaps not for your eyes.

Nov 17, 2020

Thomas Houseago, was recommended to me during a one to one. The contrast in his work interests me, the suggestion of abstraction whilst remaining figurative. I enjoy the way in which it is not a harmonious homogenised being

Nov 17, 2020

Louise Bourgeois’ practice resonates in me, I think her presentation of biomorphic creatures is really important to the way I have considered my work. I want my pieces to commandeer a space the same way hers do.

Nov 17, 2020

Jo Spence photography. I really like the way Spence captures movement of the form, the textures within her work feel almost penetrable and itchy. The importance of an image as a piece of work in itself.

Nov 17, 2020

Niki De Saint Phalle. Received feedback about reworking the concept of attraction and repulsion. In this case the bright colours act as an enticing factor that distracts from the distorted form. Not sure how I feel about colour at the moment, my bargain green homebase paint had mixed reviews.

Nov 17, 2020

Presentation variance

Nov 17, 2020

Nov 15, 2020

New process of film inspired drawings. Watching an alarming film and choosing a scene at random to start off a drawing, when the drawing is finished you start again. Film is always important in the research and development of my projects, the attack on the senses interests me. Transparency is something I have been interested in for a while but unsure if it correlates with this project. Talked about making it into a curtain.

Nov 15, 2020

This has become a project of sin and shame and neglect. Giving a form to the dark side of your conscious; a thing that breathes and pulsates in the background. I’m thinking a series.
