@DuncanBannatyne You're welcome! And thank you for all of the work you are doing.

@davels @DuncanBannatyne He means it as "the taxpayer doesn't have a spare 500k, let alone 500m".

@IainIsCreative For sure, really works well! I can drop something into the drive on my Mac, and it’s visible on my iPad and iPhone within 10-15 seconds. I don’t use Dropbox anymore, but pay Amazon 70p a month for 400GB of S3 deep glacier storage (just as total redundancy).

Apr 10, 2020

@IainIsCreative I got the 128GB one as I utilise iCloud Drive heavily (recently upped to 2TB plan). All of the devices have the same spec regardless of storage now, so really only what you think you’ll need.

@IainIsCreative I just grabbed one this week, seriously impressive device. 12.9” with the macOS “Sidecar” feature makes it a highly competent second screen, plus more real estate for apps. Don’t have an Apple Pencil yet, but I’ll hopefully get one soon.

Edinburgh’s weird when it’s like this. An empty office building is even weirder. https://t.co/d4p6Loj3iI

@DAkacki I politely disagree. Zoom's privacy and security issues have been highlighted far beyond the three weeks you indicate. ✅ Collects and shares huge amounts of user info ✅ Circumvented browser security mechanisms ✅ Circumvented normal install processes (on macOS)

@OoniHQ Is there a scheme for referrals? If so, I'll definitely need to mention @mrgan when I get mine!

Apr 6, 2020

@Besquared3 @policescotland “Everyone’s allowed to make 1 mistake” - sorry, no. Mistakes like that can cost lives. What an absolutely ridiculous statement.

Apr 5, 2020

@mrgan That’s great. :) I’ll hopefully be able to grab one when I get my back garden sorted out!

Apr 5, 2020

@mrgan Oops, I think I had flavour in my mind when typing the question (your pizza looks amazing)! Presume using gas instead of wood for fuel produces the same result?

Apr 4, 2020

@mrgan Looks amazing! Does not burning wood impact the flavour at all?

Apr 4, 2020

@debgiri1 @British_Airways Oops, sorry - didn't see this until now. No, I didn't have any issues at all, nobody queried it at all. Hope it helps!

Apr 2, 2020

@thegrugq "Fixing bugs and being responsible". Some of those "bugs" are totally irresponsible in the first place. > Circumvented browser security mechanisms > Shady installation behaviours > Little transparency on data collection It's basically malware.

Add two CVE's to the list. https://t.co/IxXwX0GGhW

Apr 1, 2020

Oops, let's add not actually end-to-end encrypted to that list. https://t.co/cS65KZAcgf

Zoom: ✅ Collects and shares huge amounts of user info ✅ Circumvented browser security mechanisms ✅ Circumvented normal install processes (on macOS) ❓ What else is it doing, is convenience worth the risks? https://t.co/qF6eIS0w5N

@fakecarlsagan @Andrewmd5 @cabel @c1truz_ @steipete I haven't installed a Windows app in ages, but isn't there a step when it displays the publisher (and if it's verified or not), with an "Install now" button? That's the one click?

Mar 31, 2020

@Andrewmd5 @fakecarlsagan @cabel @c1truz_ @steipete I think we can agree that it's scummy! :) If those thousand users knew what was going on behind the scenes, I'll bet a lot of them wouldn't be happy with it though. Isn't it up to professionals like us to maybe highlight things like this, so we can educate others?

Mar 31, 2020

@Andrewmd5 @fakecarlsagan @cabel @c1truz_ @steipete I agree it's not a security issue, but I again disagree with your logic there. It effectively installs the application when I don't expect it to, and without the final "Install Now" consent.
