Student Support Team

The Student Support Team (SST) work with students and Personal Tutors in all matters related to student welfare and can help direct students to support services available both at the University and elsewhere in Edinburgh.

Personal Tutors can refer students to the SST if they have any pastoral care concerns and they can contact students directly or put together an action plan if there are more serious concerns in consultation with the Director of Wellbeing.

Any student queries can also be sent to the SST to deal with as appropriate. The SST are happy to participate in a meeting or meet students 1:1 to discuss any non-academic concerns.

The team are divided into looking after the following cohorts:

The SST are responsible for processing and keeping record of the following:

  • special circumstances
  • concessions
  • transfers
  • extensions
  • interruptions
  • progression
  • withdrawals

Personal Tutors should not process the above matters and consult the SST or relevant staff (School Curriculum Approval Officer, Senior Tutor, Director of Learning and Teaching) as required.
