A quick guide to Personal Tutor information for Informatics staff

Emergency contacts

If a student is considered at risk,  there might be a requirement to contact their nominated “Emergency Contacts” as recorded on EUCLID. This might be because of the following reasons:

  • A student has not been in recent contact with the School
  • The student has not responded to initial attempts by University staff to engage with them;
  • Staff are concerned about the student’s wellbeing.

The document linked below sets out processes for communicating with emergency contacts, including a flow chart setting out the suggested process in full.

The nominated senior colleagues in the School of Informatics who can authorise such contact are Paul Jackson (Senior Tutor) and Neil Heatley (Head of Student Services).
