Course registrations and changes
Course registrations for new and continuing students should follow their Degree Programme Table.
Continuing students can pre-register their course choices via PATH (using the “submit to PT” button) from May to the end of July, ITO will then process these course selections during August in advance of the start of semester. Course Registration will re-open via PATH in late August and PTs will process remaining course registrations for new and continuing students.
If a student wishes to make any course changes past the Week 2 deadline, they will need to get permission from both their Personal Tutor and the course lecturer (to ensure that no assessment is missed). Late registration on a course is not a special circumstances reason, nor a reason for an extension for coursework. If the Personal Tutor is supportive of this late change, they will also need to email the ITO so they can contact the Examinations Team to check that this is possible, to ensure that two exams are not timetabled for the same period (please note that this has happened in the past!).
A student can withdraw from a course until the end of week 6 of the relevant semester. Personal Tutors should use their common sense when assessing course registrations and should try to ensure students have course credits relatively balanced per semester.
Any course selections that are not compliant with the student’s Degree Programme Table will require a concession.
A student who has withdrawn from a course after Week 6 will have this remain on their EUCLID record as “Withdrawn” but this will not appear on their HEAR transcript.
Courses can be taken as class-only which will allow student’s access to the materials on LEARN but they will not be expected to undertake any assessment, nor receive a course mark.
