Andrea Mejia – I’m a Mexican novelist, translator, and MSc Creative Writing student at the University of Edinburgh. I’m an English Literature BA specialized in translation from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and my dissertation centered on the role of women as ‘organic artists‘ in Anaïs Nin’s short stories. I have specialized in writing and editing for digital media, such as Cultura Colectiva and Google Arts & Culture.
Cherie Bradley – I am an English and Scottish Literature undergraduate at Edinburgh University. I am intrigued by the various modes of contemporary narrative structure and what it can tell us about the present. Happy to chat and discuss most topics especially if it involves coffee.
Daniela Castillo – After getting a BA in Communications and Media, I worked as a journalist, social media specialist, and travel writer. I got my first approach to the tech industry when I became part of the Amazon team as Alexa’s screenwriter. Later on, I worked as a digital content manager for cultural and financial websites. I am currently doing a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing with a focus on fiction.
Eduard Gafton – I’m a MSc Comparative Literature student with an interest in everything digital. When not too busy writing about how the internet is the future of humanities, you may find me advocating for why people should pay more attention to eReaders.
Friederike Gerken – I’m a Book History and Material Culture MSc student with particular interests in 20th and 21st century mass-production and people’s creative engagement with books. When I’m not reading I mostly spend my time geeking out about art and languages.
Héléna Lagreou – I’m a French postgraduate covid-stranded in Edinburgh. I studied public execution in France in the late Middle Ages, but now I am currently studying Japanese medieval history at The University of Edinburgh. For my masters’ degree, I always used a digital humanities approach with the help of databases and factor analysis. Former bookbinding apprentice in Paris, I am also passionate about book history.
Le Zhang – I’m a student of the University of Edinburgh, major in Literature and Modernity. I’ve worked as a publisher editor and new media writer. I appreciate the spirit of ‘construct’ , humanistic care and critical thinking in Digital Humanities. Walter Benjamin’s modernity theory is my area. I’m thinking about the Aura of art, the influence of technology on literature and art, and the state mind of modern people recently.
Luisa Gilles – I’m an English Literature student at the University of Edinburgh. I grew up mostly in Italy, but moved to Scotland when I was fourteen. I enjoy creative writing and plan to go on to study it as a Masters, and to someday write a novel.
Natalia Covarrubias – I’m an electric person. Currently studying a MSc in Comparative Literature at The University of Edinburgh. I enjoy both the anachronic and the synchronic. Devoted to reading Latin American women writers. And anything by Ricardo Piglia. Constantly changing my mind.
Rebecca Keegan – I am currently an undergraduate student studying English Literature. I enjoy most aspects of literature but my favourite area’s of study are American fiction and fantasy. I hope to go on to study a masters in communication once I have graduated.
