Edinburgh Innovations (EI), the University’s commercialisation service, has helped an Edinburgh-led collaboration with FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies UK (FDB) to secure Prosperity Partnership funding this month to develop more cost-effective ways to make modern antibody-based medicines.
The Sustainability Awards offer an opportunity for staff and students to make a difference and contribute towards the University becoming more socially responsible and sustainable.
As you can imagine, the Annual Sustainability Awards Celebration looked a little different this year. Despite the lockdown, the online event incorporated a range of elements such as music, poetry, videos and live contributions that provided an opportunity to share and celebrate experiences of implementing sustainability initiatives.
The Royal Society of Edinburgh has selected 19 of the University’s academics to join its prestigious group of fellows. This year, the focus was on those who have had a positive impact during the Covid-19 crisis, through academic research, their support of the arts or for playing a key role in communications around the pandemic.
Social Responsibility and Sustainability’s annual Sustainability Awards celebration takes place on 1 April. The event will celebrate and recognise the efforts of staff and students who have made a positive difference in the university community, in their local communities or globally in a socially responsible or sustainable way.
In this new miniseries, we celebrate the recent appointment of 40 of the University’s most promising early career researchers as Chancellor’s Fellows. This issue, we’re taking the opportunity to meet a few of the Fellows from the College of Medicine & Veterinary Medicine.
